The 122nd edition of the Ambassadors Cup brought excitement, camaraderie, and world-class polo to the stunning setting of Punta del Este, Uruguay. Organized by the Asociación Uruguaya de Polo in collaboration with Santa Cruz Polo Club, this prestigious tournament marked the first Ambassadors Cup of the year, setting the tone for an exceptional polo season.
A Memorable Kickoff
The event began with a warm welcome dinner, where players, sponsors, and polo enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the spirit of the Ambassadors Cup. The six competing teams were officially presented alongside their team jerseys during the evening, heightening the anticipation for the matches ahead.

The tournament featured six competitive teams, each showcasing skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship:

Championship Glory
After three days of thrilling competition from February 18 to 20, Las Grutas emerged as the tournament champions. The team, composed of J. Dos Santos, R. Silveira, E. Aviles, and Catalina Tomasevich—who stepped in for her father, Federico Tomasevich—delivered an outstanding performance to claim the coveted title.
While Las Grutas lifted the trophy, the Ambassadors Cup highlighted much more than the final result. Every team and player was celebrated for their participation, emphasizing the event’s core values of unity, sportsmanship, and international friendship.
Beyond the Field
Participants enjoyed exceptional hospitality off the field, with memorable moments at Posada Paraíso and Polo Santa Cruz. The event was further enriched by the generous support of Alexis Boismenu, president of the Asociación Uruguaya de Polo, and Michael Klein, who graciously hosted participants at his home.
