During Easter Week 2025, the 123rd edition of the FIP Ambassador’s Cup was hosted at the stunning Hacienda Santo Tomás Polo Club (HST Polo Club) in Costa Rica. Known for its breathtaking landscapes and warm hospitality, HST provided the perfect backdrop for this celebrated event, which gathers international players each year in different countries to foster friendship, sportsmanship, and cultural exchange through polo.

This year’s tournament was organized under the leadership of Ronald Zurcher, who served as Costa Rica’s Ambassador to the Federation of International Polo. The matches were officiated by renowned umpire Nacho Baltodano, ensuring fair play and high standards on the field.

Four teams took part in the competition:

  • Nihi: Felipe Gomez, Edgar Zurcher, James McBride, Miguel Calzada

  • Santo Tomás: Max Acosta, Ronald Zurcher, Julio Arosena, Rogelio Sada

  • Promérica: Antonio Gomez, Harry Zurcher, Bruce Colley, Rogelio Igartua

  • Heineken: Victor Wolf, Stephan Zurcher, Davis Colley, Ricardo Cos

Throughout the event, players and guests enjoyed not only competitive polo but also the unique camaraderie that defines the Ambassador’s Cup. The setting of Hacienda Santo Tomás, with its stunning ocean views and lush surroundings, provided a memorable experience for both participants and spectators.
