The South American Playoff (Zone B) for the II FIP Arena Polo World Championship was held from May 15 at La Carona Polo Club in Capilla del Señor, Argentina. Organized by the Federation of International Polo (FIP) in collaboration with the Argentine Polo Association (AAP), the event brought together national teams from Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, and Chile in a thrilling series of matches.

In the opening match, Argentina edged out Uruguay 12–11, thanks to a stellar eight-goal performance by Francisco Crotto. Despite giving away one goal due to their higher team handicap, Argentina managed to clinch the match and set the tone for the tournament.

Argentina’s squad included: Napoleón Bourdieu, Andrés Lariguet, and Francisco Crotto. Substitutes: Juan Falabella, Miguel Lagos Mármol, and Damián Mondaca.  Coach: Gonzalo Azumendi.

In their second appearance, Argentina decisively defeated Peru 11–5, securing their qualification to the Arena Polo World Championship. Peru had previously beaten Uruguay 4–2, closing the triangular tournament.

With solid teamwork and standout performances, especially from Andrés Lariguet, Argentina now advances to the World Championship in Virginia, where they will compete among the globe’s best.
